Outlook receives to one Personal Folders and tries to send ...

Quotes are inserted around each address I try to send or reply to..

Any help much appreciated.

Sorry, but this isn't close enough to standard English for me to figure out
exactly what you're asking. Quotes around the display name are not
significant.

When trying to send from Outlook 2007, I time out with a small message of a
few characters. I can receive mail ok.

I tried sending from my ISP website and can send mail from there. I receive
it in my Inbox OK.

Let me know what other information yu reuqire.

And what is the *exact* text of the error message?

Actual text is:

Task (e-mail address removed) [ Sending reported error. (0x80042109). Outlook cannot
connct to your outgoing Smtp Mail Server. If you continue to receive this
message, contact your server administrator or Internet Service provider. ISP.

I have contacted the ISP who instructed me to send mail from my online
mailbox. I could send the mail from my online mailbox and received it in
Outlook.

I cannot send anything from outlook itself.

Your tech guy was misguided. Being able to send from the online interface
doesn't prove anything about the SMTP server because you're completely
bypassing the SMTP server.
