Outlook Live 2003 Syncing Help

I installed Outlook Live 2003 with the Outlook connector. I understood that
it is supposed to sync with Hotmail automatically to keep calendar, tasks,
contacts in sync across two computers automatically. I cannot get Outlook
Live to sync with my Hotmail calendar, tasks, contacts at all. Does anyone
have any idea how to get Outlook LIve to sync with Hotmail calendars, tasks,
etc?

Thanks

What errors do you get? Can you configure your Hotmail account in Outlook
with the connector succesfully?

Is this with the hotmail account your created for outlook live or use with
msn premium or is it a free hotmail account? Outlook Live won't work with
free or plus accounts.
What does the sync status screen say?

Thanks for responding. I do not receive any error messages. I have been
successfull at connecting to my Hotmail account via Outlook Live 2003, as
well as another IMAP email account.

When I start Outlook and click the "Server Status" button on the bottom
right of the screen the message displayed indicates that mail, calendar and
contacts are connected. The problem seems to be that the local .pst file is
not syncing with my Hotmail calendar, tasks, contacts for some reason.

I have tried making my Hotmail account the default message store, but the
local .pst and Hotmail account still refuse to communicate.

Thanks

My Hotmail account was a free account, but I upgraded from the free account
to Outlook Live when I paid the $44.95. The Hotmail account shows no adds
now and storage has been upgraded to 2 gigs, so it is no longer a free
account.

For give my ignorance, but I have yet to find a sync status sceen in
Outlook. Where is it? I have looked all over Outlook for some sort of
syncing mechanism, but have been unable to locate any such feature.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

look at the outlook toolbar at the bottom right of the outlook window - it
should have (e-mail address removed) | Server status. click on server status - does
it say it's connecting or that you need a different account? does detailed
report sow anything more than "successfully refreshed?

if you don't see the outlook live toolbar, did you install the connector?

The Outlook connector toolbar is displayed in the bottm right of the Outlook
screen with (e-mail address removed) - Server Status. Server status indicates
that Mail, Contacts and Calendar are all connected.

Detailed report shows the following:

Outlook Connector Version 1.6.1601.0
Account: (e-mail address removed)
Signed in successfully at 12/23/2005 1:54:28 PM

Unfortunately, still no syncing with Hotmail.

Thanks in advance for all you help!

I think you misunderstood the synching part then; it doesn't synch with your
local pst-file but with the online Hotmail account. For instance you can
drag & drop messages from a pst-file into your Hotmail account and the
messages get uploaded. This wasn't possible with th free account and without
the MSN Outlook Connector.

To set the Hotmail account as your default account you must create a new
profile and immidiately choose Other when setting up your account. To create
a new profile go to Control Panel-> Mail-> button SHow Profiles...
