outlook gets stuck while send receive

hello,
my email using pop3 account is getting stuck every time a send receive
operation occurs.
what can i do to stop this from happening?
 
Check to make sure your POP accounts are settings are correct.

If correct, check your network connectivity, at times this will happen if your connections is too slow e.g. using a wireless.

Finally, if all the above are indeed okay then your .ost file may be corrupted. You can rename this file to say .ost1 then close Outlook and force it to create a new one.

I am not sure of what version you are using but when you are adding the POP account to your Outlook I believe there is Test button.
