Outlook folders lost after Easy Transfer

Allan S

I have just done an Easy Transfer (by cable) from my old XP PC to my new
Vista PC. Both had MS Outlook loaded as email. After the transfer the
emails previously in the folders of my New PC had vanished and been replaced
by those imported from the old PC. Needless to say I had neglected to make
back-ups or use Auto Archive!! Does anyone know how I can retrieve the lost
email folders or where they may have been moved to? I have tried a System
Restore, but this has not changed Outlook back to the earlier position.
Help!

No need to keep posting. As we have posted here countless times, you never
use Windows Easy Transfer with Outlook. I'm sorry you had to prove that to
us once again, but we already knew that.
Nevertheless, WET does not destroy any existing data files, so your failure
to make backups before transferring data may be harmless this time. Don't
try it again.
Your other data file should be perfectly intact on your hard drive. If you
did not bother to note its name or location, just search for it, then open
it in Outlook: File > Open > Outlook Data File...

Within OL, File>Open>Data File...... see if it locates any other data files,
but I fear you may have ovewritten your data file and lost your origonal
System restore does not work on data
