Outlook fax w/attachments crashes Word

P

Parakeet

I've Googled this and not found an answer though I may be using the
wrong terms. I'm on WinXP SP1 using Microsoft Fax installed from my XP
CD, using Outlook 2002 to send a fax. I'm using the fax mail transport
via Outlook and when I use an attachment of my resume, a Word document,
word will crash and the fax will say undeliverable. If I leave the word
file open, the email/fax sends fine. What is blowing up between step
one and step two?

Also how do I get the cover page to let me put a subject and a message?
The email body becomes a separate page so I'll have 4 pages, cover
page - no message, email body - message then the two pages of my word
document.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Thank you, I'll go print that out now.

To fax an attachment from Outlook, the file type of the attachment must have
a printto verb defined in order to render the attachment.
The message body will not go on the cover page. Details here:

I downloaded Fax4Outlook and it's telling me that I'm not connected to a
phone line, if I use XP fax it works fine. I've contacted the
Fax4Outlook folks but any thoughts as to why this has happened?

Any pages that can help me troubleshoot the Fax4Outlook? Google isn't
bringing any up that aren't attached to the program author.

It was a link from your article. It handles the attachments with a drag
and drop and allows the cover sheets to be filled in then all goes out
at once. Instead of the outlook attachment, I'm to stupid to understand
the printto verb thing you were talking about.

it's at www.fax4outlook.com it's a shareware.

1. Are you able to print your word document to normal printer.

2. Are you able to fax other documents like wordpad, excel etc.

3. To enable cover page for faxing, In outlook goto Tools | Email Accounts
| View or change existing email accounts | Fax Mail Transport | Change
option. This will open a fax configuration page, where you can modify all
fax related configurations.
