I mucked up my email settings with powerpoint 2000. How can I re-apply the
pop3 values to send a PPS? As it stands, it gives me the typical error
message. I can't figure out how to re-apply the email server values.

Thanks in advance, Graeme

What's the exact wording of the "typical" error message?

Your POP3 settings wouldn't have anything to do with whether you can send a PPS
file ... they might affect whether you can retrieve any mail at all.

As it's trying to send the attachment, this comes up:
An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'hotmail.com', Server:
'hotmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 Cannot connect to SMTP
server 64.4.32.7 (64.4.32.7:25), connect error 10051', Port: 25, Secure(SSL):
No, Server Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67

I have tried to zip the .pps to make it smaller, but 2.7mb only compresses
to 2.4mb. (if size is the problem)

Thanks again, Graeme

It appears that it's nothing whatever to do with PowerPoint, the size or type of the
file. 421 is a Server Not Available error, as I understand it. In other words, the
SMTP (outbound) mail server is down.

Give it a little time, then send a test email to yourself (with no attachment). If
that works, then try sending the PPT again.
