Outlook Express Says No Connection

Each time I reboot my computer, Outlook Express 6 says that there is no
connection to the internet when I try to access a newsgroup. It has a button
to cancel or try again. When I click try again it connects and all is fine.
I don't have to do this again until after a reboot. It is more of a
nuisance than anything else.
This just developed so I was wondering what gives. I am always connected to
the internet with a cable modem. I would appreciate it if anyone has a
suggestion as to what caused this to start up and how to eliminate it.
Thanks in advance.

check and see if you are in work offline mode -

File - Work Offline (will be checked if you are)

Thanks for the response. I checked File - Work Offline. It is NOT checked.
It is odd that this occurred only after uninstalling QuickTime this morning.
Evidently, some file OE needs has become corrupted. If you think of
anything else, please keep me posted.

Thanks,

Warren

Did you check your Tools | Options, Connection Tab and see how OE handles
the connection?

OE: Tools > Accounts > News (& Mail) > [account] > Properties > Connection >
Always connect using... (uncheck).

Also check your settings here: IE Tools > Internet Options > Connections >
LAN Settings.
