Outlook Express previewing and reading email

When I use Outlook Express to retrieve my email, I will get the email however
I cannot view it. The mouse pointer becomes an hourgalss and just spins and
spins.
I went to taskmaanger and it showed that my usage was 100%. This just
started happening a couple of weeks ago or so.
