Outlook emails

[Confused]

whenever someone sent me an email, my outlook seems to download the same
email at least twice, sometimes four times. Checked set rules and nothing
unusual; checked Pop and nothing unusual either.

What can be wrong? This has been like this for a very long time already
without any idea what to do, except keep having to delete the extra email
downloaded.

Have you got an AV application that "integrates" with Outlook, or is set
to scan incoming email?
