Is there a way to recover emails in an old Outlook.ost file? I have a copy
of an Outlook.ost file with some old emails that I would like to review. The
problem is I am on a completely new computer and a new mailbox with a
different company. My old system was an exchange mailbox and I made a copy
of my Outlook directory, but I did not move all of the files from my inbox to
personal folders (.pst files - which I can get access to).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jim

Hello jih

DO you have the Backup of the OSt File and what is the size of it .

It may be important to note if your ost was outlook 2002 versus now 2003
there may be some difficulty as well in retreiving data as the PST and OST
files are different
"Outlook 2003 uses the same MAPI profiles as previous versions of Outlook.
However, there are a few format changes introduced in versions of Outlook
that might cause backward compatibility or interoperability issues. These few
exceptions are described in the following sections"

My Outlook.ost file is ~96MB. I am using Outlook 2003. The ost file was
generated using Outlook 2003.

Thanks.

Jim
