outlook (email) locks up when trying to start it

every time i try to open outlook it just freezes. i've tried re-installing it
but still does the same thing. i have not installed any new programs, i have
un-installed AIM. any suggestions will be appreciated.

Try deleting or renaming %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\outcmd.dat and
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\extend.dat
