I just bought a new Dell computer with windows XP. My old
computer had Windows 98 SE. All of my e-mails on my old
computer are in Outlook 2000. How can I transfer them to
my new computer? I can't seem to find the folder where
the various folders are located(ie Inbox, Sent, Draft,
etc.) Can someone help? This computer is only a day old
and Dell says I have to pay for their assistance.
Microsoft says the software came with the computer
therefore it's up to Dell to provide support.

All of your data is contained in one file, usually named outlook.pst.

Did you reinstall Outlook 2000 on the new system? If so, transfer can be made by
importing your old data from a copy of the previous *.pst file. This is usually
done by burning a copy of the pst file to a CD-R or CD-RW disc, then copying the
file to the new system, remove the read-only attribute of the file, and then
import the data.

If you have any future issues with Outlook, you would be better served by
posting your question to a more relevant newsgroup, such as
microsoft.public.outlook.general.
