Outlook Customize Toolbar Buttons disappear.

Hi,
I had a power failure and when the system came back up I started my Outlook.
All my custom outlook buttons were gone and only the MS Default. I went
throught and redid all my custom buttons and each toolbar. Closed Outlook and
restarted and they were all gone again, just the default. I than restored my
PST file from a backup (yesterday with my buttons). Restarted Outlook, still
no custom buttons. So, I did an Outlook detect and repair. Closed and
reopened. Went throught and did all my custom buttons again, read some mail
and add a contact and an appointment and closed Outlook. Opened Outlook again
and all my custom buttons were gone again. All my new data to contact and
appointments were ok.

Why won't Outlook hold (save) my custom buttons? How do I fix this?

Thanks to any one who can help,
Roxanne

Close Outlook. Find and rename outcmd.dat to .old. (If using Windows 2000
or XP, you will need to enable searching hidden and system folders.)

Once you have done so, reopen Outlook and it should open fine. You will
need to rebuild any custom toolbars or customizations as the file outcmd.dat
controls how the toolbars display. The power failure probably affected this
file as well as others on your computer. This file can be very fragile.

Once you have your toolbars configured the way you want them, close Outlook,
find and COPY the outcmd.dat file to a place that you back up often, such as
My Documents. If your active outcmd.dat file is corrupted again, just
rename it as before but instead of recreating all your toolbars, just copy
the saved outcmd.dat file to the same directory..

I am trying to establish new contact group on tool bar. I right click in
blank area, then go to customize, then check that contacts is on tool bar.
However, when I click on it the list appears and not a new contact group tab.
What am I doing wrong?

My problem seems to be I am using
Vista Windows Mail and all replies refer to Outlook. I found some pertinent
replies but couldn't find them again! Help

Naturally answers will be about Outlook in an Outlook newsgroup. Go ask
