Outlook Contacts

I recently upgraded from Outlook 2002 to Outlook 2002. It used to be that
when I composed a new message, I could type in the name in the TO field, and
it would check my contact list and fill in the email address, or I could
click on the down arrow next to the TO field and it would give me a list of
everyone in my contacts list.

Now when I compose a new message, it gives me a squiggly red line because it
wants me to select between two duplicate names (one is a fax address and one
is an email address).

I don't use Outlook to fax messages. How can I get Outlook to automatically
select the email address, and ingore the fax addresses?

You are confusing two completely different functions. In your previous
version you were using autocompletion, which did not use your Contacts at
all. It used a cache names of previous recipients.
Now that you have a new installation, you have no cache populated yet, so
Outlook can autocomplete for you and will resort to using autoresolution,
which does use your Contacts. It will stop doing so after you populate a new
cache, or if you backed up your data, you could migrate your previous cache.

Correction: Outlook canNOT autocomplete for you since you have no cache.
