Outlook Connector stopped working

That useless piece of junk known as the Outlook Connector (12.1) stopped
working (again!) a few days ago. Outlook claims to be Sending/Receiving, but
the % complete crawls slowly towards 100% without ever actually getting
there. Clicking "Server Status" shows "Connecting..." against all items.
The Detailed Report shows "Signed in successfully", but show nothing against
Mail, Calendar or Contacts.

I have deleted the account, the profile, everything. I have uninstalled the
connector. I have re-installed the connector and set up everything again
from scratch. I have done everything short of re-install Office 2007.

????? ideas anyone, before I hurl the computer through the window?

Which add-ins do you have installed?
Tools-> Trust Center-> Add-ins

Do you have a virus scanner installed which integrates itself with Outlook?
Uninstall this integration part of your virus scanner and try again; you'd
still be sufficiently protected by your on-access scanner part of the virus
scanner. For more details see;

Hi Roady,

Thanks for replying. I have not expressly installed any add-ins (apart from
the connector), but the following are listed:

COM Add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook Connector
Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging
Microsoft Office Groove Proxy for Outlook
Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server Colleague Import
Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service
OneNote Notes about Outlook Items

And the following are listed as inactive:

Microsoft Access Outlook Add-in for Data Collection and Publishing
Microsoft VBA for Outlook Add-in.

I use Avira anti-virus. I don't know to what extent it might integrate
itself with Outlook, but I've tried disabling it completely which didn't help.

The plot thickens.

I tried a different computer where, initially, it worked. However, this
computer had not been used for a while, so there was a long list of Windows
and Office Updates pending. And, now all the updates have been applied, the
Outlook Connector no longer works, with the same symptoms as the original
computer.

So, it looks like Microsoft busted it with one of their updates (so what's
new???). It's Windows XP SP3, and Office 2007 SP2.

I'd try using Outlook Connector Beta 14.

Thank you for your suggestion, which I have tried without success (same
problem).

I have wasted too much time on this already, so this is the final call for
help before I consign Outlook and the Connector to the trash.

Well, thank you to those who tried to help, but I give up. I've been using
the Outlook Connector for several years, and it has been an endless source of
problems. No more.
