Outlook Conflict

After loading AntiSpyware, I was unable to receive e-mail
from the Outlook Server. I had to go out to sbc yahoo's
mail client which is not all that great for everyday
use. I uninstalled the AS software and everything is
okay. I must admit that the AS software found things
that others did not, however, not having access to e-mail
was too big of an inconvenience.

Has anyone found this issue? Is there a work around?

Did you remove any spyware, while you had the product installed?

After removing the spyware, was a reboot required?

Did you use System Restore?

I kinda have the same issue, so I thought I'd reply here.

I use OE to get mail from my ISP (via POP3) and from
Hotmail (via HTTP). Since I installed it, I sometimes get
the message when I open OE (and it checks for new mail)
that there's no connection available (even though there
most certainly is) and it gives me the option to try
again or cancel. Trying again doesn't do much good as it
usually checks Hotmail without ever going on to the next
mail job.

I must say that getting Hotmail mail via OE has never
worked that good, but this error I've never seen before
MS AS came along.

I did remove some stuff but I'm not sure if I got the
first OE error before or after doing that.
After removing the spyware, was a reboot required?
No.

Did you use System Restore?

No.

Hope this helps. Other than this and a couple of false
positives, good program.

Thanks for responding. The major networking related issue we've seen here
is a broken Winsock LSP stack, because of removal of spyware or (sometimes)
of a good dll detected as a false positive.

I was trying to figure out whether the more subtle issues noted in a number
of threads, including yours, related to some aftermath of that issue, which
kills Internet connectivity completely--or is something else entirely.

In your case, I think it is safe to say to say that it is some different,
and much more subtle issue, which I don't have any handle on, I'm afraid.

To clarify the error in OE.

I get a small window titled "Would you like to go
Offline?":

No connection to the internet is currently available. To
view Internet content that has been saved on your
computer, click Work Offline.

Cly Try Again to attempt to connect.

"Work Offline" "Try Again"

And as I said, when I click on Try Again, OE does nothing
but perform the first task. Checking Hotmail for new mail.

When I close and then open OE, no error message. So the
first run only after the computer is started gives me the
error message. And no other programs give me problems,
error messages or unusual behavior. And glad to be of
help. ;)

I often see similar error messages from OE, but only when
my laptop has just come out of standby. If I wait a minute
or so, the Internet connection is then stable and reliable.
Incidentally, I'm on DSL with a 24/7 connection.

I just installed a hotmail account in my OE which also checks a number of
other POP3 accounts.

It seems to be working fine--no messages, and I can send mail back and forth
between the accounts.

I'm not sure whether what you are seeing is a performance issue on your
particular setup, or what. Do you see any other issues associated with
having Microsoft Antispyware running? Lags in opening files?
