Outlook can receive e-mail, but cannot send to external destinatio

Greetings,

We use Outlook 2000 SP3 with Exchange 2000 and we face the following problem
with some mail accounts;

When the user attempts to send an e-mail message (using Outlook) to an
external location, the program just freezes and does not respond. The user
can send and receive e-mails to/from recipients inside our organisation's
global address list and can also receive e-mail messages from external
locations.

We would be grateful if we could receive any assistance regarding this
problem.
