Outlook Automatically forwards mails

I am getting 'System Administrator: Undeliverable'
messages when I receive mails because Outlook appears to
be forwarding them to a now defunct email account.

I have checked 'rules' on outlook on my PC and none are
set up. I have also checked on our exchange server and I
don't have any 'rules' set up there either. Does anyone
know why this is happening?

If it is any help the problem does not seem to occur when
I receive internal mails, it only occurs for external
ones. Also, the undeliverable message appears at exactly
the same time as the received mail which seems a little
strange to me.

thanks in advance

Have an example you can post?

thanks yes, they always come in this form:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended
recipients.

Subject: test
Sent: 05/08/2004 09:17

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

darach.x.cullen@***.com on 05/08/2004 09:17
The e-mail account does not exist at the
organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail
address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the
correct address.

This is pretty explicit. It's a message from the receiving end that the
address doesn't exist. So, the problem is on the recipient's side and you
can't affect that.

thanks for your help,

I realise that the address no longer exists. My problem is
that I get this message when I receive mails, so something
must be autoforwarding to this address when I receive
(external) mail. I've checked the mail rules and there
appear to be none set up, so I don't understand what is
forwarding the messages to this address.

Not necessarily anything forwarding to this address. You could have a
queued read receipt for that address that Outlook is trying to send each
time you send/receive.

Hi

Not sure if this thread will still be checked but...

I'm still getting the system administrator 'undeliverable' messages. If this
is a queued read receipt for that address that Outlook is trying to send each
time you send/receive how can I stop this?

Thanks

Since you made this a new topic and did not reply to the original thread,
you're lucky someone found it, but you had the foresight to include enough
context that I can recall the original thread.

See if something here helps: http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/delete_rr.htm
