outlook authorisation

Hi,

Forgive me I am a real beginner!. When I open outlook express on my PC I get a box asking me to put in my username and password. However, they are already in there. I can'y overwrite them, but I am sure they are correct. I had it set up by remote support who gave up as they couldn't get it to send or recieve mail. It has now started doing this by itself. Also, the date and time were a few weeks and hours out, but after three days this has now sorted itself. Things improved when I installed new Mcafee security, but I still get these error messages. Should I delete the whole of outlook express and re-install?? Thanks
