Outlook as default email client

I desire to have Office Outlook as the default client instead of OE. All
settings on Internet Eplorer (version 6) - Options page are set to Office
Outlook. All settings under the Options screen within OE (version 6) show
that "this application is NOT the default Mail handler." The box under the
Other Tab within Office Outlook (2003 version) is checked to indicate wanting
Office Outlook as the default client for email, calendar, contacts. I
continue to receive all mail to OE and very much want Office Outlook to
receive all mail...is this a matter of removing OE or have I completely
missed something? Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist.

1. Control panel, internet options, programs - set Outlook as the default
mail program.
2. Take your mail account out of OE in case you accidentally launch it.
