Outlook 97 wont start in Windows XP SP2

Hi

I cannot start Outlook 97 from my new Windows XP SP2 machine. All other
Office '97 programs work fine. The error message I receive is "Outlook.exe
has encountered a problem and needs to close".

I have tried re-installing Office 97 and have installed the latest updates.
I have tried running the program as the administrator but receive the same
error. I can create new tasks, appointments etc., using the office shortcut
toolbar.

Does anybody know how to make outlook 97 work under Windows XP? I don't need
the program for email as I use outlook express. I don't want to upgrade the
office suite as the rest of my colleagues use Office '97.

Thanks in advance.
