Outlook 97 & auto complete

Andrea

Does Outlook 97 have the ability to auto-complete an email
address for me? I can manually look it up in my address
book, but other programs auto complete and it's so much
easier.

Thanks.

Andrea,

I honestly don't know. Have you looked in Options, settings, advanced
settings and see if there is an option to "Suggest Names when completing
To:, CC:, or Bcc:. That is where you might find the function to turn
autocomplete on. Or, that function may not be available in Outlook 97.

Good luck.

Not until Outlook 2002 did this become a feature. Earlier versions Outlook
have a feature called auto-resolution. If you enter part of a name or a
nickname then tab out of the field (or hit Alt-K [Check Names]), Outlook
will attempt to resolve the name against your address book. If it can't
it'll red underline it and you can right click on the name to manually
resolve it. Outlook will save the resolution for future use.

Thank you!!! That's just what I was looking for. Glad to
hear auto complete is available in later versions.
