Outlook 2007 + Vista + Imported user profile

Hi Everyone,
I figured I'd document my recent experience with importing my user profile
into Vista which contained my Outlook 2007 profiles. Everything worked fine
as far as I can tell, except for the fact I was unable to use my signatures,
they didn't show up in the signature list. So, I tracked down the signature
folder (c:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signature) and found out I
didn't have full permissions on the folder, so Outlook was being locked out
of it. So I changed the permissions and Voila! I could see my signatures
again and they worked as if nothing had happened.

Interesting. How did you import your user profile? Did you try running
Outlook as an administrator?

Hi Russ,

I imported my user profile using the Windows Easy Transfer tool. No, I
hadn't tried running Outlook as administrator since I had previously had some
problems with a bad upgrade to Vista, I resolved my problems by doing a
format and re-install. So when everything worked but my Signatures in
Outlook I tried to create a new signature and it spat out a write permission
error. So I tracked down the folder where the signatures are stored and I
was unable to open it. So I checked its permissions and discovered I didn't
have read and execute permission, Modify permission or List Folder Contents
permissions (administrator did of course). Once I enabled those, everything
worked.
