Outlook 2007 Uses the Internet to Download the Address Book

Hi,

Outlook 2007 has an irritating feature whereby it tries to connect to the
Internet in order to download the offline address book. How do you turn this
feature off?

What happens is that someone can be working away in Outlook and then it will
suddenly prompt for credentials as it is looking for an OWA server. Is there
anyone out there who understands this and knows how to stop this from
happening?

Thanks,
Chris.

Hi Ben,

We have an Exchange 2007 server, but Outlook 2007 is looking for the web
based OWA server for some reason when it looks for the address book.

Hi Diane,

Thanks for your reply. The web based server is available from the internal
network so I'd imagine that in theory it should be able to pass the
credentials through. I can access emails by entering the URL of the web
server into IE, but it still prompts for credentials.

Regards,
Chris.

You have cached exchange configured? It should be using that URL. Is it
accessible from the internal network?
