Outlook 2007 - Tiffs open in Word...

One of my users has a weird issue. Using Outlook 2007, when she tries to
open a .tif attachment it tries to open in Word, which won't open the file.
Save it to her computer and Picture and Fax viewer opens the tif. I don't
see anywhere in Outlook where you would specify that.

Suggestions?

It's not an Outlook setting, it's a Windows setting. Outlook should obey
the Windows file type associations. Control Panel>Folder Options>File Types
tab

The first thing you might try is to empty the Outlook Secure Temp Folder.

to save attachments first, then open them.

It wasn't until I got to her desk that I realized there was a generic icon
associated with the tiff. That was all it took to realize that no app was
associated. Sometimes end users just give the wrong info... Well, easy fix.
