Outlook 2007 - system tray icon

G

Gabe G

I've started noticing this issue lately.... I have my Outlook 2007 client
(connected to Exchange 2007) set to auto-send/receive every 10 minutes. The
Outlook system tray icon, however, even when it's not checking for
email/sending email out, more often flashes to the little letters icon (as in
when Outook, for example, synchronizes folders or something like that).
However, once I hover over the Outlook systray icon, it returns back to the
regular gold Outlook icon.

I never really noticed this before until the last few days. I right-clicked
on the Outlook icon and all the settings (e.g., "Show network warnings", etc)
seem to be checked off as before.

Any ideas? Again, it seems rather harmless, but it's annoying to see the
letters icon so frequently now.

When connected to an Exchange Server, the auto send/receive settings are not
used. An Exchange Server pushes information to Outlook as it arrives, so
the icon may change at any time.
