Outlook 2007 sends emails?

it appears as if my Outlook 2007 is sending messages to others about email I
haven't read. I got several emails from a listserv telling me I was sending
to an address that didn't accept emails (I didn't send any) and it sent one
of my friends several messages about me deleting emails I haven't read. Is
there some feature about unread email that causes outlook to send a message?

is it you sending them or a is a spammer faking your address?

in the case of unreads, if the sender asks for a read receipt and you delete
it without marking the message read, they will get a 'deleted, not read'
receipt.

I don't think it was sent as a spammer and the recipient of the message I was
referring to did not initiate the email. I had copied an itinerary to her
and myself. I deleted it because I already had a copy and it sent her that
message twice. I am just concerned it's automatically sending some messages.
