Outlook 2007 has started opening in safe mode only. I have tried a repair
with no success. Any assistance would be appreciated.

When you say only in safe mode, what happens if you try to run it in 'normal'
mode?

If that doesn't work, try disabling all your add-ins (from Safe mode) then
restarting Outlook (in 'normal' mode). If that works, try re-enabling
add-ins and restarting, until you find the culprit.

I haven't a clue on how to "restart Outlook in normal mode". How do I switch
between "normal" and "Safe" please?

Thanks for the assist.

When you open Outlook and it tells you it's starting in Safe Mode, do you not
get the option to overrule that and start in Normal mode?

So do you get a popup message or anything when it starts? Or does it just
come straight up with (Safe Mode) in the title bar?

If it's something other than that, can you describe exactly what you get
when you start Outlook that isn't normal? Thanks...

Sure,
Following a restart to ensure we begin cleanly, I open Outlook. When it
starts, it starts in the Safe Mode ... no popups, etc. (Safe Mode) is in the
title bar.

OK, now I'm stumped. I haven't seen this before.

What happens if you search your hard drive for the Outlook.exe file and
double-click that? Do you get the same? If that works OK then it sounds
like your shortcut might be incorrect.

Also check the registry key they refer to in this article just in case it's
somehow been set: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924687
