Outlook 2007 new email icon

I use rules to place incoming email in certain folders and can not get the
new email icon except on the the email going to the inbox.

Is there some way to get the icon on the email going to other folders than
the inbox?

No. Microsoft received many complaints from people who didn't like the icon
staying in the tray when messages were moved by rule to other folders or
deleted by rule. Consequently, in Outlook 2003 SP2 (or it might have been
SP1 - I don't recall exactly), Microsoft changes the behavior and only mail
that stays in the Inbox triggers the icon.
