Outlook 2007 "network logon & password" not saved

Outlook 2007 intermittently requests my network logon & password when
sending/receiving with my two POP3 mail accounts (ISP). I have saved the
correct logons/passwords numerous times but it does not seem to work. There
is a related KB article for Outlook 2003 on Windows XP, but the instructions
don't work with Office 2007 on Vista.

Any ideas?
 
What version of Windows are you using? Have you upgraded from a previous
version of Windows/Office on that machine?
 
I should say it's the *password* that doesn't hold (even though it's
correct)...the user name is retained.

I'm running a clean install of Outlook 2007 on a clean install of Vista
Ultimate. I didn't have this problem with Oulook 2003 on XP Pro.

Are you using any antivirus program>
Try disabling that to see if that works. Also try the account in a new
profile>
