Outlook 2007 Instant Search

We are currently using XP Pro SP3 and Outlook 2007. Some users Instant
Search does not work all the time. We do not have Desktop search installed.
The indexing and search potion are greyed out for the users under Tools |
Options | Search Options. Would there be a reason the search is not working
for some of our users? While searching for a contact or even in email no
results come up.

Instant search needs Windows Desktop Search installed. If its not installed
you are limited to the old Outlook search - if you use exchange and are in
classic mode (not cached) you can use the exchange index for searching.

Regardless, outlook's find should work but is painfully slow.

We are in cached Mode and it works for me and others ok a little slow
sometimes. Any reason it would not work for him?

No idea what so ever. Try office diagnostics and if that doesn't help,
delete the ost and let outlook rebuild it.
