The Instant Seach for my Microsoft Outlook 2007 does not work, even after
following all the recommended fix instructions:
1. Restart computer
2. Rebuild indexes, then restart Outloook

Does not work. The Instant Search returns NO results at all.

Is there a fix?

I have the same problem. Vista and Office 2007.
The instant search returns an empty search no matter what is entered.
Reading all the posts on the subject it seems to be relatively common problem.
Thanks for any help as thsi is a feature I use frequently

Me again.
Did all the suggestions listed below to no avail.
The search comes up empty even on a simple word like 'the'. No matter what
is entered, the search comes back empty.
There are a lot of replies asking for OS and version of windows, but there
are very few answer with any substance.
Does MS monitor this site and these posts?
If so please come up with an answer. Now I'm begging.
Thanks
Mike

Limey,

I fixed my problem. I simply exported my contact folder to a windows .csv
file, then deleted all my Outlook contacts, then imported the windows .csv
file back into the Outlook contacts folder. The search worked like a charm
after Outlook re-indexed.

Hope this helps you.

See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;927595 This
worked for me as I was administrator:
1) create an administrator account "Rhett".
2) Logon as Rhett and remove admin from Charles
3) Logon as Charles > Rebuild Outlook Instant Search index: Outlook Search
Options > Clear checkboxes in Index-in these files > File > Exit > Start
Outlook > do it again to check the boxes for the .pst files > File > Exit >
Start Outlook. Index begins. Soon, I got some results.
