I recently got a new Dell computer XP Pro Microsoft
Office 2003. My old PC was Gateway Office 2002. I
transfered files to new computer. My problem is outlook
2003 when I go to start a new email I get the error
message runtime error 2417467259(80004005) Method ~ of
Object ~ failed all under the little window heading of
ACOutCom. What is causing this error? asuggestion would
be greatly appreciated.

The ACOutCom error occurs because you are using an ActivCard smartcard
reader, Outlook, and using Word as your email editor. There is a conflict in
the built in Outlook certificate support and the ActivCard software. Disable
the unnecessary Outlook Security Icons in ActivCard and the error goes away:

To get rid of the "ACOutCom
Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)':
Method '~' of object '~' failed" error:

1) Insert your SmartCard into the ActivCard reader.

2) Open up ActivCard Gold Utilities (Right click on the ActivCard Icon
running in the bottom right hand corner of your screen (next to the clock)
and choose OPEN -or- Go to Start/Programs/ActivCard Gold/ActivCard Gold
Utilities)

3) Go to Tools/Local Policies

4) Scroll down to the "Add Outlook Security Icons in the compose e-mail
window" policy. Click "Properties". Choose the "Disabled" setting, and choose
OK.
