Problems moving from XP Pro/Office 2003 to Windows 7/Office 2007

My [old] machine is running Office 2003 under XP Pro. I use Outlook for my
calendar and contacts.

I bought a new machine with Windows 7 Premium. I installed Office 2007
Professional. After validating online I started up Outlook. It gave me an
error saying that it needed to update the Outlook connector and would shut
down Outlook to do so. However, it just sat there forever, never shutting
down Outlook or taking any other kind of discernable action. I finally went
on line and downloaded the latest version (11.2, I believe) and installed
it. Outlook then started just fine, allowed me to configure it to be the
client for my MSN/Hotmail account, and worked correctly in all aspects.

I then ran the Easy Transfer utility [with an easy transfer cable] and it
completed the transfer from the old XP machine to the new Win7 machine with
no warnings or errors. Everything appeared to have been transferred just
fine. All except for Outlook.

When I started Outlook it put up the little "migrating account settings"
dialogue box -- I don't know why it thought it needed to do that but
nevertheless it did and then it quit with the following error:
--------------
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The
set of folders cannot be opened. The file
C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.nst cannot be
accessed because it has been configured for use with a different mailbox.
--------------
I then removed the Outlook Connecter and Outlook, rebooted and reinstalled.
Then when I started Outlook I got a similar error to the first one:
--------------
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The
set of folders cannot be opened. An unexpected error has occurred. MAPI was
unable to load the information service mscon.dll. Be sure the service is
correctly installed and configured.
--------------
I'm guessing that the Easy Transfer program got a little confused trying to
copy the configuration settings from Outlook 2003 over to the new 2007
installation.

Does anyone know how I can get this issue fixed? I have my old contacts and
calendar exported to .pst files but that doesn't do me any good if I can't
get Outlook itself to run.

Any help?

Thanks in advance,

Howard

I think this might be more appropriate in the outlook.installation group.
Would it be possible for the administrator to move it over there for me?

Thanks in advance,

Howard
