On one users computer I can't get Outlook 2003 to shutdown completely.
After closing the app the icon stays in the taskbar and won't go away.
When you try and right click on the icon you get nothing and when you
double left click it pops up a baloon that reads...
Outlook is not rsponding. If your are using and Exchange server e-mail
account, you can cancel pending server requests by clicking the
Outlook icon in the notifications area, and then clicking Cancel
Server Request on the shortcut menu.
After this the only way to close it is to go into Task Manager and end
task out the OUTLOOK.exe process. This is a major pain for the user
and have not been able to fix the issue. I have tried the following.
Uninstall/Reinstall OL2003
Deleted all profile related Outlook files in these two directories:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
C:\Documents and Settings\ben\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook
Uninstalled Mcafee Virusscan
Created a new profile.
Loaded the user on another machine within Outlook and it worked just
fine so it can't be the Exchange Server account.
Any help would be appreciated.
