When you want to text message someone's cell phone from your computer you
use their cell phone number as their address. When I do this Outlook gives
me an error message that it doesn't recognize it as an email address (I
assume because there is no @whatever) and will not let me send. I do not
see a way to override this and send anyway, surely it must be there. Could
someone please tell me how to do this.

Thanks in advance... Bob

you have to send it as an email with the @ sign
your computer is not a phone

For Rogers subscribers here in Canada if you subscribe to Text and
E-mail Messaging, your wireless e-mail address is: your 10-digit
(e-mail address removed) so it would be something line
(e-mail address removed). I'm assuming it's similar in the US.

Usually not. You may be able to use their number as the username portion of
the address and their cell provider as the domain, but it all depends on
what their provider allows.

My computer is not a phone, nonetheless that is the recommended way and the
it is done from non-Outlook computers. I will try the @ sign though.
