Was wondering if someone else has had this problem:
After shutting down Outlook 2003, the Outlook icon (sometimes) stays in the
taskbar. When I right click on it, the context menu pops up, but when I
select "Open Outlook" from the options, I get the following message "Outlook
is not responding. If you are using an Exchange server e-mail account, you
can cancel pending server requests by clicking the Outlook icon in the
notifications area and then clicking Cancel Server Request on the shortcut
menu.". The thing is I neither use Exchange server, nor do I want this icon
hanging around for no reason, if it doesn't work. At the moment I'm forced
to manually stop Outlook.exe from Task Manager to get it to go away..
Btw, one more question if anyone can help: I have the option to show desktop
mail alerts active, but the transparent window never appears when I receive
mail. I just get the envelope icon in taskbar and a sound alert.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Joe
