Outlook 2003 sees nothing in a 26mb PST file

I have a 26mb Outlook 2003 archive.pst file in which Outlook 2003 sees
nothing inside. I've mounted it successfully, it's not password protected, or
encrupted.
All I see is a empty Deleted Items, Sent Items, Search Folder from Outlook
2003

When I ran scanpst on archive.pst, it found Errors to repair, and it found
10 folders and 700 items. When it fixed it, I restarted Outlook 2003 and
there was still nothing inside.

With personal.pst, scanpst found 9 folders and 1092 items, it found errors
too and it was fixed, but Outlook 2003 still couldn't see anything.

If it is truly empty, why is archive.pst still 26mb and why did scanpst find
10 folders and 700 items?

Thanks

I don't know what you mean by "mounted it" but that's not how you open the
file. In Outlook, select File, Open Outlook Data File and choose the Archive
file. Never overwrite the Outlook.pst file or the Archive.pst file.

The pst file was never overwritten. Why are items in a 26 megabyte PST file
not showing up in Outlook 2003, I've already added the pst file from within
Outlook Data File. All I see from the archive.pst is a empty Deleted Items,
Sent Items, Search Folder from Outlook. How could "EMPTY" Deleted Items, Sent
Items folder consume 26 megabyte?

Thanks

Deleting items from a PST file will not make it smaller unless you
compress the Personal Folders File. Did you try this, and is it still 26MB?

Compress didn't work, I final found out why the archive.pst was so big, I
when to properties on archive.pst and click on Folder Size
