Hi all,

In our firm we're using Outlook 2003. There some people use the
following options when they are out of the office:

tools => out of office assistant => add rule => reply with => template
=> some text

That's it, nothing more. They just adapt this text in function of the
dates they are out of office. Now, what's the problem? Every time they
change this text, the FIRST reply Outlook sends when they are away
contains the old text. The SECOND text contains the adapted text.
Always! So, this seems very strange to me.

Does anyone have a clue? Thank you in advance.

Fred.

I'm confused. Are the users turning on only the OOA message? Or are they also adding a rule-based response? If the latter, are they using OOA or RUles Wizard?

Hi,

They are only using a rule... They just adapt the text in it, and then
this strange thing happens.

Without the rule, everything works fine.

Thank you in advance!

You may need to use the free MAPI Editor tool from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=55FDFFD7-1878-4637-9808-1E21ABB3AE37 to completely remove the OOA rule. It may look pretty complex, but documentation comes with it.

Thank you!

I'll try to hand this over to the IT-department. The problem is I don't
have the rights, the authorization to do this kind of stuff. But, I do
know the IT-dep. doesn't find a solution, so I hope this is a solution.

If the problem is solved by this MAPI tool, I'll let you know.

Hmm, authorization...
