Deleted rule running with Out of Office Assistant

Help.

Whenever the Out of Office Assistant is turned on for one of our users via
Outlook Web Access, the out of office reply runs, but so does an old,
deleted rule from 2 years ago. The rule is an away from the office rule
from when we did not have Exchange. No instances of the rule can be found
in either the Web Access or Outlook. The template that it uses does not
even exist anymore.

Note: This user works under POP3 and not exchange.

Can anyone shed some light on where this phantom rule is coming from and how
to stop it.

This is puzzling, because there's no "out of office autreply" available in
Outlook without Exchange....nor would you have had OWA without
Exchange....so it sounds like an autoreply rule in Outlook or another mail
client.

Just curious as to why that's so. You lose a lot of functionality that way.
I don't recommend this, ever.

Is there any other computer/client set up to access that mailbox via POP,
that perhaps has a rule set up? Try changing the password on the account and
then change it in this user's Outlook so it is sure to be the only client
accessing the mailbox?
