Outlook 2003 keeps restarting

After downloading 25005 emails from a pop3 account my Outlook now keeps
restarting. The Outlook file is 2.7Gb, and whilst it was downloading it
said there was 282Mb of emails. I have tried scanpst and it has not
worked. Can anyone suggest what to do next?

If this were happening to me, I'd start with a new PST temporarily by adding
it to my profile using the Mail applet in Control Panel (the Data Files
button), making it my default delivery location (with the E-mail
Accounts>Next sequence). I'd then see if I could reference the old PST. If
the old PST is not a Unicode PST, you may have to use a PST trimmer to
reduce its size enough to open it. See
