Outlook 2003 installation problem

I have just got a new laptop (toshiba) running Windows Vista home premium.

I installed Outlook 2003 as a part of my office 2003 professional package.
But Outlook won't open.

It gives the following error statement:

Cannot start microsoft office outlook. MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong
version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging software.
Please reinstall Outlook.

I've tried reinstalling Outlook, I've downloading the update from the
internet for Office 2003 (patch 3?), but nothing seems to work. I've tried
uninstalling the associated busines manager but that doesn't seem to want to
respond. All the other applications work fine.

I haven't installed any other messaging software, only Norton INternet
security 2008. Can anyone offer any suggestions. I want to stay with outlook
2003 as my pda runs the same software.

Many thanks

Karl
