Outlook 2003 email rules don't work

We have an Exchange 2003 server and I'm using Outlook 2003 with the latest
patches. I have many rules which simply put emails in to folders. I'm
running in cached mode. My rules use to work fine until I used a blackberry
now none work. I have got rid of my blackberry now and recreated my email
profile and recreated all my rules but they still don't work/

The funny thing is if I manally run the rules they all work?? Just not
automatically.
