Outlook 2003 email does not send or receive from IMAP server

I am using Windows XP, Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager on a single
computer. My ISP is Charter. I have my own website hosted by GoDaddy and I
am trying to sync my email using IMAP settings. I get the following error
messages and I can not send or receive, although it does seem to work
sporatically. Error messages 0x800CCC0E and 0x800CCC0F. Any suggestions?

Are they your e-mail provider?

Are they your e-mail provider?
sync my email using IMAP

Or is someone else your e-mail provider?

Does whomever that happens to be your e-mail provider (you never said who)
provide IMAP access to your mailbox?

Whether it was Charter or GoDaddy, you are paying them for service which
includes technical support. Did you contact whichever one is your e-mail
provider to get their help with their service for which you are paying?
0x800CCC0E and 0x800CCC0F

You sure those were the ENTIRE error messages, that the only thing stated
was an error code, and that there was absolutely no other text in the error
messages?

- WHICH version of Outlook?
- WHO is your e-mail provider?
- Is this an old setup that was working but then stopped working?
- Is this a new setup that you have yet to get working?
- EXACT content of the error message(s)?
- Did you follow their web help pages on e-mail server settings?
- Since operation is sporadic, have you tried disabling security software
that may interfere with e-mail traffic (anti-virus, anti-malware, 3rd
party firewall, etc)?
- When testing using a different e-mail provider, is operation just as
sporadic?

Outlook Version:
Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (11.6568.6568) SP2
Part of Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003

GoDaddy is my email provider. I did talk to them and they said my settings
were correct on their server. They provided me with the email client
settings to put in to Outlook. They are:
Incoming (IMAP) server: imap.secureserver.net
Outgoing (SMTP) server: smtpout.secureserver.net

This is a new set up, meaning two weeks old. Originally it worked then it
became intermittent. Some times it works but most of the time it does not.

Error Message Content. I usually get two error messages, sometimes three.
This morning I can only get one of the three. They are basically the same
message. Here is the one:

Task 'imap.secureserver.net - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact
your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Charter is just my ISP. I did talk to Charter support and they said they do
not support anything other than charter.net email and that they only support
POP3 for that. Charter tech support is terrible and I don’t think they even
know what I was asking. I just can’t believe that I can’t use my Charter
cable connection to connect to my email client at GoDaddy. They told me to
contact Microsoft for Outlook support.

I turned off my firewall and email scanning on my anti-virus software
(McAfee) and it did not seem to fix the problem.

Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Charter is probably blocking outbound mail on port 25 directed at
anything other than their own servers.

This is standard procedure. They are not terrible.

http://help.godaddy.com/article/363 - use any port on that list other
than 25
http://help.godaddy.com/article/2649 - specific instructions for Outlook
2007. Again use any port on that list other than 25

Let us know if this does not solve the problem.
