Outlook 2003: automatic name checking

G

Guest

On Windows 2000 Pro with Outlook 2003 connected to an Exchange server...

Both the automatic name checking and suggest names options do not work,
regardless of the check box option settings in Options... E-mail Options...
Advanced E-mail Options... Automatic name checking, and Suggest names while
completing To...

There is no .NK2 file found anywhere.

This is a client specific problem as these features work OK on another
Windows 2000 Pro system that I have.

I have tried reinstall/repair, but no change.

Any ideas on how to correct this problem?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Open Windows Explorer and enter the following into the Address bar:

%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook

Click Go. You should see a file whose name matches your profile name and
whose type is ".NK2". The folder indicated by the %AppData% environment
variable is a hidden folder.
I have tried reinstall/repair, but no change.

But have you tried creating a new mail profile? That usually fixes it when
it really won't work.
