Outlook 2003 attachments

Some recipients of my email messages do not receive my attachments. I have
changed my settings so that outgoing messages are in plain text and checked
the box for encoding attachments in UUENCODE format but then recipients
receive a bunch of gobbly gook. I have set my outgoing messages to HTML
format and the gobbly gook does not appear but neither does the attachment.
Please advise.

Hi,

Check your Sent Items to see if the attachment is leaving your machine with the email message. If it is, the problem has nothing to do with your machine. If some people receive
attachments while others do not, there must be some kind of attachment blocking on their side. Check with each recipient to see if they are able to receive attachments from other people.

The attachment is leaving my machine with the email message. I do not
believe there is any attachment blocking on the recipient's side because they
are able to receive attachments from others. I tested this with my gmail
account and received the attachment when sent in HTML format and received the
garbage email when sent in plain text. I have this issue when sending
attachments to those using lotus notes.

The "gobbledegook" is the UUENCODing you've specified. The problem appears
to be on their end, with their mail client not properly recognizing the
attachment for what it is.
