Having succumbed to the pressure to update my Windows messenger (I rarely
use it any more) and linking it to my Outlook 2003 I am now unable to send
and recieve or change email accounts in Outlook. I have uninstalled Office
and Messenger and reinstalled Office. No good!!!!!!

I no longer intend using Messenger so replying to my my hotmail account will
be a complete waste of time please use (e-mail address removed) for any
notifications.

This is a complete pain in the A@#se for me and I have wasteed two entire
afternoons trying to get the bloody thing fixed.

What error or errors do you receive while trying to send/receive? Have you
installed the Outlook connector for Hotmail?

I followed the instructions that came with the upgrade.

I assumed that ticking the box that offers a connection with outlook,
automatically installs any linking software that is required. Even so, if
this fails Outlook should (I once again assume) default to its normal
state. I have two new directories in my outlook navigation pane both relating
to my hotmail account . These cannot be deleted. I cannot access my email
accounts to make changes and I can no longer send or recieve email. the error
message I recieve when trying to access my email accounts from the Tools
option is "The operation failed due to a registry or installation problem.
Restart outlook and try again. If the problem persists, please reinstall". I
have, several times, tried to uninstall outlook, and office in it's entirety,
and reinstall all from the CD. This simply returns me to the same state of
failure. The "error message" I recieve when trying to send and receive is
absolutely nothing but silence and inaction.

I wish I hadn't attempted to upgrade messenger
