Outlook 2003 and Vista contact search

I'm utterly bewildered. I'm unable to search my contacts. Even though I
clicked import for my outlook pst file and it ran it's thing, and i can see
all my 2,000 contacts - when i enter a search name, it acts as if no one is
there. Any ideas? No prblem in the past with XP - just since i switched to
Vista.
