Dual contacts list in Outlook 2007

I'm syncing my iPhone and Outlook through MobileMe. Since I'm self-employed
and have over 2,000 contacts, I'd don't want all 2,000 to synch with my phone.

Is it possible to have multiple Contact lists so that only one can be synced
with my phone, and the other isn't? The iPhone syncing seems to be all or
nothing; all the contacts get sent to the iPhone, rather than selected ones.

(And Groups inside the Contact list doesn't isolate the contacts, either.)

I already have dual PST file open, one with my main emails, the other to
hold long-term resources. I noticed that I can't make a 2nd Contacts folder
that's attached to the 2nd PST file. It appears that I can only have 1
Contacts folder and that it gets synced to the phone.

Your term "multiple contact lists" has no meaning in Outlook. Just because
your sync software uses the term does not mean it exists. It doesn't.
Outlook permits you to make as many Contacts Folders as you wish. Whether
your sync software can sync with folders other than the default remains a
question for them.
You have posed no Outlook questions so far.

OBVIOUSLY, I don't know WHAT Outlook calls the icon called "Contacts" on my
screen. So to me, it's a "list" of my contacts and I know it's somehow
embedded or saved with my .PST Outlook file.

But my question, again, is can I have TWO OF THEM, regardless of what they
are called?

I've searched Outlook HELP and online and haven't found anything about have
2 or more CONTACTS folders/lists. I'm using Outlook 2007.

It would be very kind, gracious, and helpful of you if you could tell how to
make a second CONTACTS folder/list. As I said previously, IGNORE the syncing
part of my original post.

I just want to have 2 CONTACTS folders/lists.

Actually it does, Russ.

Sync software says to choose the outlook contacts folder you want to sync
and suggests that there are multiple ones in Outlook. And the software
doesn't allow me to select just certain contacts in the contacts list.

But regardless of your response, I can't seem to find any info about
multiple contact lists in Outlook, which is my real question.

And disregarding syncing with my phone, I really would like to make 2
contact lists, one that is my base of core contacts, the other for the
thousands of contacts I have to keep for business and as a user group
leader.

Your question has nothing whatsoever to do with Outlook. Ask whoever
supports your sync software.

Just make sure you set the new folder to contain "Contact Items" in its
properties. It may default to something else depending on which view you
create the new folder.
