Hello everyone!
I am using Outlook 2003 and the Oracle Connector for Outlook version
9.0.4.2.7.
I am experiencing the following problem when I log in to my mailbox. I
cannot send messages while I can receive messages. Any new messages or
replied to messages or forwarded messages just sit in my outbox and go
nowhere. If I click on the Send/Receive button, the button blinks to a
darker orange color but no window comes up displaying the status of the
operation and no action is taken.
The above behavior is performed while I am logged in as a user. If I make
the user a member of the administrator's group, the behavior disappears. I'm
able to send and receive messages, reply and forward any message. If I click
on the Send/Receive button, a window comes up showing status of the operation
being performed by Outlook. However, I do not like this solution since it
gives a regular user administrator priviliges over the machine. Big security
no-no.
I have tried giving the user additional access such as making him a member
of the Power Users group and this does not help. I have also tried manually
giving him full file and folder access to the Program Files and Windows
folders and all subfolders and files to no avail.
Any suggestions or recommendations as to how I may be able to fix this
problem?
